Frequently Asked Questions

What About Children?
One of the exciting aspects of this church model is the way in which children are cared about. Every individual home church works with children differently, depending on the individual children that are part of their church family. The unique needs of the children are addressed and worked out by the home church in a variety of creative ways. The result is that children feel that they are an important part of their church family, and adults are able to develop ways to fully enjoy church while caring fully for their children.

What Is Worship Like in a Smaller Group?
We are discovering that worship from the heart becomes enhanced because of the simple, non-professional format. We have to “un-learn” some of how we have done church in the past in order to be willing to experiment with a worship that is less music-driven and more heart-driven. But we are discovering that the result of this is a deeper, more intimate, more personal experience. We also look forward to our less-frequent, larger gatherings in which we can express the kind of large-celebration worship that is also important.

Is the Word Taught Effectively When Everyone Participates?
We are discovering that God speaks to His church through a variety of people and gifts. We are having to un-learn our expectations that good teaching is always delivered a certain way and with a certain style. As we do this, and as we learn to hear the Holy Spirit in new ways, we are discovering that God is teaching us His Word in very need-meeting, and memorable ways that cause us to remember and apply His teaching more effectively than when we were passively listening to good teaching.
